A very overdue post on my trip to Perth earlier this year. Perth in February can be scorching hot with frequent showers. If I’m not wrong, it is summer in February back in Perth! So do be prepared for the hot warm weather and unpredictable rain shower, do plan your itinerary well with wet weather back up plans! For us, we traveled around via Car so it was kind of much more convenient and time taken is much shorter. Following summarizes the attractions and food hideouts I would recommend from my trip back then.
12 Attractions you can wander around in Perth – within City or at the outskirts!
- Busselton Jetty
Longest wooden jetty, stretching almost 2km out to the sea. It’s the perfect beach area for the summer. Basking under the sun against the warm soft sand and cool clear blue water. One place you might not want to miss. If you are adventurous enough, change into your swimwear and join the locals in the water!
2. Point Walter Sandbar
It’s an interesting phenomenon where the sand bar extend and split in between the river as far as 1km. At the side of the sand bar, you will find a couple of ongoing fishing activities. It’s simply a place for chilling and relaxing.
3. Fremantle Market
Bustling indoor markets filled with souvenirs stalls, local produce, handicrafts, clothes and food stalls. Once you’re in fremantle, hop on to their Blue Cat or Red Cat free shuttle bus services which will give you a rather good overview of the whole fremantle area, covering quite a handful of the tourist attractions too. Click here for more information on their respective routes!
4. Round House
5. Caversham Wildlife Park
If you are like us, short of time to make a trip to Rottnest Island, you could catch a glimpse of Quokka right at their Caversham Wildlife Park too! They house other wildlife like Koala, Kangroos, Wombat, Penguins and more! Perfect gateway with your little ones!
6. Swan Valley/ Margaret River
Looking for vineyards filled with growing grapes or the pairing of fine food with a glass of wine? Then here’s the right place for you! One filled with the beauty of not only wines, but also land for honey, nougats and chocolates (Get the famous ones from Margaret River Chocolate Factory!).
7. Pinnacles desert
The Pinnacles are limestone formations within Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes. There is a driving path or walking trail which either way you get to enjoy the picturesque desert filled with various limestone formations.
8. Hillarys Boat Harbour
After a long day, take a stroll down the harbour filled with yachts docked at the bay and be mesmerized by the sunset right before your eyes before/after your dinner!
9. Crawley Edge Boat Shed
One of the most random yet attractive destination which was definitely instagram worthy! Along the road of nowhere, extends a wooden bridge which venture into a blue boatshed right in the middle of the swan river. The scenery is just so peaceful and serene.
10. Bell Tower
11. Mural Street Arts
Vibrancy of city is well illustrated through their rich street art culture prevalent in the various streets of alley. Capture the moments as you cross your paths with them!
12. Outlet Shopping
Last but not least, how can we say no to shopping? 2 main shopping areas to satisfy your shopping desire will be at Watertown Outlet Shopping (similar to their Habourtown Outlet Shopping in other parts of Australia) and Perth Underground district! At Watertown Outlet Shopping you can find your sports shops like Adidas, Nike, Fila; local brands like Cotton On, Valley Girls etc. Get ready to shop your hearts out!

Accommodation Recommendation!
AirBnB: Ayesha’s Place – 88 Thomas Street, Bayswater 6053
If you’re coming with a group of 8 friends and will be driving, you may want to check out Ayesha’s Place! The host is very friendly, place is clean and spacious. Well furnished apartment and most importantly it is conveniently located! Probably just a 10-15 mins drive to the city center!
Till then! These are just bits and pieces of Perth you can explore, there’s definitely more out there!
