Another cafe hunt at A for Arbite. Its located in Serangoon Garden, very accessible for me! Brightly lit, neat and prime layout and design. Its a good choice and friends and family to gather.
They have quite a range of food on their menu though their price belong to higher end too. We ordered their Soup of the day which i think its chicken corn soup. Its like corn soup with chicken chunks in it. Its not the rich kind of corn soup you expect in western restaurant. Its more of diluted, and feels kind of fusion with chinese style.
Some of their mains are quite unique. We ordered a total of 4 mains to try although there’s only 3 of us. Sounds a little greedy! Squid ink Spaghetti with Seafood ($23.90), Eggs Benedict ($13.90), Green tea Tagliatelle with smoked duck breast ($23.90), Tom Yum Breaded Fish. There’s like 2 kind of squid ink pasta, one kind is the one using the squid ink sauce and there’s another where the pasta itself is made from squid ink sauce which stain your teeth less! Anyway back to the food. The squid ink spaghetti is average, but nevertheless, their seafood is fresh! Eggs benedict on the other hand were much lighter in taste compared to other brunch cafes. the Green Tea Tagliatelle with smoked duck breast is actually quite special and good even though we cant like taste, oh thats green tea tagliatelle probably it just contain a tiny winny bit of green tea! & that it was just a little tad too oily. The baked tom yum breaded fish is quite refreshing too due to the tom yum flavour. Generally, arbite’s food are quite of fusion style.
The food is unique and worth a try but probably not one that will keep you going back but perhaps once in a while. But as i’m writing this, i saw their menu, they have changed quite a bit of their menu since the last time i’ve visited.
